Lontoo on maailman pääkaupunki

New Yorkilaiset ovat hiljalleen heräämässä todellisuuteen, että Isosta Omenasta on hävinnyt mehukkuus ja Lontoo on noussut maailman pääkaupungiksi. Merkit ovat kaikkialla. New York menetti asemansa maailman finanssikeskuksena, Woody Allen siirtyi filmaamaan Lontooseen ja jopa Ranskan ympäriajo aloitti Trafalgar Squarilta.

"If Paris was the capital of the nineteenth century and New York of the twentieth, London is shaping up to be the capital of the 21st" julistaa New York Magazine artikkelissaan London (the other New York).
